If I plug the access to the return line, I get 180 psi before the pump stops. The pump must have a pressure cut-off valve and it shuts itself off.
Most recently, I just ran the pump through the fuel rail without the regulator back to the return line and the pressure is still at 3 psi, so the rail isn't a restriction beyond my earlier test without it.
Maybe these Bosch pumps don't put out enough pressure to make the fuel pressure as high as you guys are seeing with the high pressure version of the Walbro?

What kind of gauge do you have that reads to 180 psi? Just curious.
